Alexis de Bernede and Marius Jacob-Gismondi, childhood friends and long-time collectors, founded Darmo in 2018 to offer international support and exposure to artists. 

 

Darmo’s mission is to give international recognition and propel the most talented emerging artists in their career. With an unparalleled jury of industry leaders and public figures to select artists, a unique network, and an active exhibition and residency program, Darmo has become an indisputable industry leader.

 

Since Darmo’s inception, the duo sought to create more than an incubator—they envisioned a dynamic ecosystem fostering the growth of emerging artists. This vision materialized into a program that not only advises and supports artists but strategically connects them with patrons, collectors, international galleries, institutions, and journalists.

 

The founders commitment to innovation and societal impact earned us a spot on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2022, solidifying our position as leaders in the support of emerging art in Europe.

 

Paris, the program’s historical city, serves as the setting for Darmo’s flagship exhibitions. These events, timed with key artistic moments, attract thousands of visitors, providing a platform for artists to connect with influential figures shaping the future of art. Alongside Darmo, the two partners manage Gismondi & Darmo, an art advisory firm working with private collectors and organizations on their collections, cultural projects, and philanthropic initiatives.
