The contemporary era is characterized by an overwhelming abundance of images. As a photographer today, Quentin Lacombe inherits the power to choose what to depict and in what proportions. He can propose new and unique interactions between seemingly disparate image regimes. The better our understanding of the universe, the greater the challenges for the mediums intended to communicate this knowledge. Thus, the methods of observation and image formatting play a crucial role in shaping our understanding of the world.
Quentin Lacombe's work seeks to comprehend the universe as a fragmented, complex, and infinite experience. His approach is not confined to the exclusive use of the camera as a means of observation; it also encompasses the use of primitive photography techniques and digital tools.
By combining these diverse methods, Lacombe aims to challenge the notion of the instantaneous nature of the photographic medium.
